Alaska Whale Watching

Alaska whale watching may be the single most awe-inspiring experience that the Alaskan wilderness has to offer. Seeing the mammoth creatures rush to the surface and leap into the air is something that never grows old. Whale watching in Alaska is an experience that you will most likely never forget.

We see a variety of whales throughout the cruise season. Whales make the same migratory journeys year after year, making them much easier to spot with a little experience. Unlike large cruise ships, where you will probably never catch so much as a glimpse of a whale, we often see dozens during the course of a cruise.

We know from experience the schedules of these whales, so we can easily pinpoint where and when they are. Gray Whales can frequently be seen near Icy Straits, for instance. While Frederick Sound is the place to be if you want to see Humpback whales. The can frequently be seen breaching and slapping their tales in the sound, as they are very comfortable there.

If Alaska whale watching is what you're after, then perhaps an excursion to Frederick Sound is in order. The sound enjoys one of the biggest whale populations in Alaska and in the world. Whale sightings are never guaranteed, but Frederick Sound is the next best thing.

Whales certainly aren't the only type of wildlife that we'll see on our cruise. Every cruise we conduct is a wildlife cruise, in some respects, as we are guaranteed to see wildlife on every cruise that we conduct. From bears to moose to millions of birds to sea otters to sea lions, exotic and interesting wildlife exists around every corner.

We at Alaska Charter Yachts take pride in the trips that we conduct. We hope that you'll take some time to find out more about our vessels and the trips that embark upon. Contact us with questions or comments, and we hope we can share an Alaska adventure cruise with you in the future.
